At 5.32 seconds we see the presenter who is talking about this topic. The presenter is usually an expert who talks about the topic which is of their interest. At 13.11 seconds when the voice over is describing the ship we see a visual of the ship and how the ship is what the voice over describes it as. At 12.05 seconds we see some text on the screen which allows the audience to see what the voice over is mentioning and it also allows the audience to be more engaged as the documentary is more interesting and appealing with texts and different types of shots. This show is about changing and re-designing a house. In this show we see how they change and improve the house. At the beginning of the show we see the workers and how the presenter speaking to different workers as they all have different roles and responsibilities. For example at 0.10 seconds we see the presenter talking to one of the workers and asking her about how shes finding it, and what she feels about her team. One convention which we see in this show is how the camera techniques create a meaning. For example at 2.56 seconds we see the designer speaking to the workers about what they should be doing and how they should be doing their job. At this point the camera shot is a long shot allowing the viewers to see what is happening around the room. For example their body language and also the background so where they are. At 2.54 seconds the designer is telling the worker about the cost of the table. This makes the show a bit more personal as the viewers feel engaged and involved as they are aware of different aspects and facts happening on the show. At 3.01 seconds when the designer points at the table on the other side of the room the camera follows it allowing the viewers to see what he is talking about, this also creates a bond and allowing the audience to feel part of the show. At 12.52 seconds we get to see the room which has been made. This allows the audience to see the process of the house while it is still under work. Showing the audience makes it more personal as they feel part of the show and they are aware of what is happening and when it is happening. At 3.09 seconds even though the designer is still talking to the worker we see other workers on screen and how they are working. This allows the viewers to see that the other workers are also still active while they are not being filmed. This show uses experts as the house must have experts while under construction. The designer is the expert as they know what the workers should be doing and the role of each worker. A convention used in this video was use of suspense concealing outcomes as the audience watch the whole show to see the overall outcome. We see the outcomes right at the end at 12.52. The audience have a say and also ask questions which the presenter speaks through. However when the guest comes on the audience get to hear their views and opinions on different facts. The guest is usually one of the members who are no longer part of the reality tv show, so they talk about their experience and what they feel about certain things. Having the guest speaking makes it more personal for the viewers as they get to hear the experience of the guest and how they may have felt in certain situations etc. This also allows the audience to have a chance at asking key questions which the presenters can then ask the guest. Thereafter they will have a discussion on key aspects from the show. In this show we have experts who come in to talk about different topics for example at 20.15 seconds when the presenter is speaking to a guest who gives her opionion. However the experts give their own opinion on the things which are viewed by them. The camera shots vary from long to mid. Most shots are long as we see the live audience in the back which allows it to be more believable and also reassures the viewers that there is a live audience. We see the audience get involved for example at 10.08 seconds when we see a person from the live audience give their view and opinion on the situation. At 1.11 seconds before they carry out their experiment they advertise their product which is the blender as they are also trying to make sales on their product so they are able to gain customer awareness by advertising to their audience. At 1.26 seconds when we see the products being blended the sound effects make it more interesting and appealing as the sound allows us to feel part of the experiment and able to feel part of the show and seeing it happen for real. At 1.28 seconds we see a close up of the blender as it allows the audience to see the product and how it looks in real life and close up makes it more personal allowing the audience to feel involved.
